@CC

Buddy i am open to learning something new or something which i dont have any knowledge about, but your data on SFC seems to be incorrect. There is no direct relationship between SFC and G.S . The formula you provided "sfc= ff/gs" is not accurate.

Let me explain you what i know.

SFC is measured in two ways.
1) For Turbo Fan Engines
SFC is measured in terms of Thrust, called as Thrust specific fuel consumption(Tsfc )or just Sfc. And its a ratio of fuel flow to Thrust.

2) For Turbo Props or Turbo Shaft Engines

SFC is measured in terms of Power. And it is a ratio of fuel flow to shaft horse power (shp).

SFC in itself is nothing more than just a fuel flow rate. It has to be associated with, and measured in terms of either thrust or power in order to use it as a tool for differentiating between different type of engines and their performance.

I hope you have some idea now about what i am trying to say.:ok:

this questions is for those who cleared the Interview...Is group exercise so mentioned on their cae website still part of their assessment. If yes, then
how many cadets are shortlisted in this phase of their assessment and furthermore what is the weightage for Regs and Met in the written test :):)

:ok::ok::ok::ok:

harsh786techy 23rd Feb 2011 08:23

@LOFT

There are two terms
1. Navigation SFC
2. Engine SFC

Navigation SFC= FF/GS
whereas Engine SFC= FF/Engine thrust.

Hope this clears the doubt.
To add more ques and discussions please post it on Jet airways ques portal. Will be appreciated.

28th Feb recruitment by CAE, was a big eyewash more than anything else.... everyone had a view about cae indigo exam which should have changed drastically after this attempt... Very Unprofessional. Certainly did not expect this from them.

GONG 2nd Mar 2011 16:31

@cobracommander
Dude i also sat for the written and it was a real big eyewash to all the 45 ppl who sat as being said by Loft .I dun knw much as i left after hearing my result which unfortunately was "Unsuccessful "acc to Cpt.Bharati.....

FlyByWire320 2nd Mar 2011 16:48

@LOFT and GONG.

Stop blaming the recruitment process for your failures:=, stop wasting your time here and start studying, your basic CPL days are over, theres a lot of competition and you really need to have a strong knowledge base to crack that exam. So buck up and start studying:ok: instead of blaming the whole system, otherwise you will be hearing the "unsuccessful":ugh: word all your life.

And cheer up guys, you can always get another chance.

cobracommander 2nd Mar 2011 17:08

gong:

Did you say capt.B?! Weird,I thought initial stage is 3rd party's(CAE) duty to select candidates to ensure fairness and no influencing by Indigo!
Anyway how many actually got through? Did they all look calm before taking the test and before the results were announced?
Any idea when is the next DATE for freshers?

GONG 2nd Mar 2011 17:15

@flybywire
I am not blaming any1 brother .I tried to put forward my review . dts all.And yes i am studying for future hoping to catch some genuine opportunity if it comes my way .:ok:

please put forward your delightful experience with the recent exam (if any)....

@Gong

@FBW320
son i am glad to know that you have reached somewhere in life which makes you feel so good to recommend it to others, but i dont wish and dont intend to be where you are today.

I have faith in what i do, and i say what i believe in.
Sure you must have given enough exams in life, everybody does, but it doesnt make you, me or anyone else an authority on it.

wish you abundant success in life too!!!

GONG 3rd Mar 2011 03:58

@loft

@pulk you should consider becoming a motivational speaker. Kidding.
Well 2/45, I thought CAE is going to stick with their 10% rule.
