@dg737: Yaar! Human performance is not all that huge for you to ask for specific topics or chapters. Just read all that you can get your hands on. From what I have heard from friends who have given the papers (some of whom have cleared too) that apart from basic human performance questions (hypoxia, hyperventilation, etc..) they ask CRM questions which involves reading the question, as well as the options, carefully and choosing what you feel is the best fit

@sonsal: Again I haven't followed the CAE papers very closely after that Dec'10 attempt but till then questions on flight planning were very basic. Don't know if CX2s are allowed or not but one can certainly solve the numericals without using them. What I was told is that they ask basic CP/PNR, LMT, questions related to drift, etc...

Hope this helps!

How are the studying going on guys???

guitarboy 22nd Mar 2011 18:06

hey what happens if one has 24.7 Hours as Multi Engine Hours
i.e. 10 Hours ME SIM + 14.7 Hours ME Actual = 24.7 Hours

Would one still be eligible for the CAE Indigo Program as it requires 25 hours M.E.
I mean if you round it off its actually 25 hours but then juz asking.

Thankx

guitarboy 22nd Mar 2011 19:10

Please ignore this mail if you have already appeared for the Cae-IndiGo assessment in the last six months and have not yet completed the cool off period of six months or if you did not clear the interview round(with IndiGo) at any stage or if you are A320 typerated.

^^^ does that mean that If you fail the Interview you can never apply again for the CAE Indigo Recruitment?

Shabez 22nd Mar 2011 20:21

yes

yes...that definitely seems to be the case

flyhigh21 24th Mar 2011 14:22

indigo is not sending pilots to madrid anymore. they are going to train in kuala lumpur now...

thearsenal 26th Mar 2011 08:33

@koolchaos
is there any reasonbehind the change of the TR location

Fibreglass 26th Mar 2011 08:54

Just to clear the air, does anybody know for sure why CAE is charging 20k to write the exam? Am I missing something?

koolchaos3188 26th Mar 2011 09:24

@thearsenal - have heard that the passing rate at madrid is only 50% and at Kuala Lumpur is 90%...

hawaijahaj 26th Mar 2011 10:29

once again...does anyone know that we have to study the high speed aerodynamics and operational procedures ??

euindkan 26th Mar 2011 12:07

have heard that the passing rate at madrid is only 50% and at Kuala Lumpur is 90%
have heard that indigo is not happy with CAE madrid, in their last sim check in Bangalore many guys didnt perform up to the mark.
but your 50% figure is bit low.

@hawaijahaj- no high speed stuff.

24. If you're flying through rain that freezes on impact, ...
(choose the correct one)

a) You're flying near thunderstorms
b) You're flying through a cold front
c) The freezing level would be at a higher altitude
d) Descending would make the ice go away from the airframe
I believe the answer to this is b), as freezing rain is most occasionally caused by an inversion layer, with the warm layer allowing the rain to be preserved in the liquid form, which end up being supercooled along the way to the surface and upon striking the ground turn to ice.

The cold front pushes the warm air upwards during its movement, creating an inversion layer.

Hope this helps. If I'm wrong please correct me.

Calculate DA if PA at an aerodrome of elevation 4000 ft is 5000 ft.Temp on the aerodrome is 27 deg C.

Now
DA=PA+120(isa dev)
(do we have to put in the height adjustment for this temp?)( i.e. laspe rate 1.98 deg C /1000 feet) or not

i would but some of the professors notes i have dont incorporate this

ps...i always thought freezing rain was due to option a

Shabez 27th Mar 2011 00:12

i was wondering are there any q for more than 1 marks

bombayhues 27th Mar 2011 04:29

Shabez: All questions are equally marked (1 mark). The paper has 100 questions

rushedyou 27th Mar 2011 09:27

@shabez
Calculate DA if PA at an aerodrome of elevation 4000 ft is 5000 ft.Temp on the aerodrome is 27 deg C.

could you explain how u worked this question?

also, freezing on impact is a sign of SCWD, which is associated with thunderstorms, but not always. the freezing level cannot be above you if u encounter SCWDs. flying through a cold front also does not mean you will encounter SCWDs, especially in the warm sector air. however, i cant imagine which option is the answer.

cloudripper 27th Mar 2011 11:14

what is SCWD?
