thanks a lot for the head's up :)

I know Hong Kong. Can't say I'm a lover of the city, but I know how it works so I know what to say :P

ps: Since you passed the initial interview, could you say what's next? Are you going to HK for some extra interview, they'll meet with you again in London?

Cheers!

MAR 6 IT @0945

Hi all,

Am new to this forum! and just digested all your posts from page 40 & onwards.

anyone else just as nervous as me for the upcoming IT?
seems like the more I read about what goes on during the different stages of interview, the more nerve wrecking it gets.
I am also really scared of the numerical test coming up, as I literally suck at math. :(

anyone on the same boat as me?

SkylineR34 5th Mar 2012 19:31

Canaisle- did you apply as an ab initio or DEFO???

lkcmss2000 7th Mar 2012 07:05

Hi anyone applied PQC here?

Any recent update at all??

i have just got enough hours but have been waiting for 2 months now....

schweizer2 7th Mar 2012 07:16

Hey,

From what I last heard, the PQC interviews we're done in early Feb.

Perhaps you should try sending them an e-mail to find out wether they have processed your application or not, this may get them to give you an idea of when they expect to be conduction PQC interviews again.

Best of luck.

chanteur 7th Mar 2012 15:26

doublexhalin, are you applying for cadet pilot or FO/SO position?

I applied for cadet pilot in late Feb but guess won't be hearing from them shortly...so just wonder when did you submit the application? =)

lkcmss2000 9th Mar 2012 03:10

claser111 13th Mar 2012 14:18

Hi guys, any news about the initial interview for DEFO? As I understand the screening process is different respect to the cadet program. Does anybody know how many steps of interview and type of questions? Thanks!

Hi AsL402,

I emailed Monique as well on Feb. 13, 2012, got a reply form her the next day.
She told me there will be no overseas recruitment (in Canada)...

They are hosting in the States I guess?

Pyromania,

I'm flying back to HK for a month or so to do it, they have a schedule for overseas applicants seems somewhat expedited. There's no overseas recruitment for the States as far as I know. From their site, they only do the recruitment in UK and Australia.

Thanks for your response!

Good luck to you!

I live in Toronto and wanted to re-apply to the program.
Last year Stage 1 took roughly about 3 weeks to complete.
I was hoping KA would shorten it. I heard CX's CPP First Stage takes only a few days.
It's not as easy to take days off while working full time.

Are you going for the MPL or CPP?
I tired to find out more about teh MPL as it is relatively new to the industry.

According to Transport Canada, MPL holder can't take command unless we get one of the traditional license (PPL, CPL, ATPL). But KA said you're able to take command... any ideas?

Hey Pyromania,

I didn't get to choose to go for the MPL or CPL program. I found out my IT is for the MPL program. So they choose for me.

The recruitment schedule that they have for overseas applicants takes about a month. One step each week (roughly)
Initial Test
First Interview
ICAO English Assessment
OAA Skills Assessment
Second Interview
For the MPL, yeah you can't take command with just that. I saw that KA does say Cadets will be able to take command after some years. So that implies that an ATPL will be issued by HKCAD when you are able to take command?

tchanhk 14th Mar 2012 19:19

Hi anyone attending the initial test on the 29th this month.

Im slightly nervous, any one know how to prepare for this?

loklooz 15th Mar 2012 07:53

Hi, does anyone who has done the KA CPP-MPL initial test on 6/3 and got any info from KA already for next steps?

Thanks!

14182 15th Mar 2012 13:26

You can look at the training programme's schedule, for the 1st phase you still have to do the ATPL ground school. It is until you have built up enough hours that you can get a full ATPL, and head for command.

Cadet Initial Test Training Prep

Could any successful cadets or those preparing for the test point me towards some sample questions or preparation material?

Would greatly appreciate it

Quite nervous when I am not sure what to expect :ugh::ugh::ugh:

I see... I thought you get to choose.

I heard the MPL is mainly done in HK. Involves more sim training than actual flying.
Makes sense for today's operations. But I think I'll like the CPP more.
However, as you said, we don;t get to choose.

Hmmm.. it takes a month as well... just like CPP (took three weeks)
May need to take a few days leave of absence from work I guess...

If HKCAD is willing to issue us ATPL, then it's worht considering.
At the end of the day, I want to take command.

There are plenty of posts about the initial test by either "successful cadets" or those who attended that round of selection here, take some time to browse through them first!

They are very detailed indeed.:ok:
