Hello

Anyone who is going to have stage 2 on the 9th June? Please PM me. Thanks.

billafin 8th May 2015 04:23

on the application there is the question "Do you have passes in all ICAO ATPL written subjects?"

Is checking "yes" to this necessary for the Advanced Entry (AE) program?

As a commercial license holder (CPL), I don't know if many people would have this prior to being ready for the ATP licensing (1500 hours).

Does anyone have any information on this matter?

Grading on 23th

Please PM me if you are going to flight grading on 23th of May; so we can meet and prepare for it! Cheers:)

seymoreskye 11th May 2015 13:21

ATPLs are not required as long as you meet the other requirements of education stated.

Most guys wont have their ATPLs unless from EU. I know I was the only one out of my group.

Hope this helps

billafin 13th May 2015 22:16

Thanks for the reply seymoreskye, and just to be clear, checking "no" to the ATPL written box doesn't disqualify us in any way, as long as we have something like a college degree?

godwinluk427 14th May 2015 14:56

Hi, I also have final interview on June 9 but i couldnt pm you due to new account.

Stage 2 June 9th

Hi!

I also have Stage 2 on the 9th! Let's meet up some time and compare notes. It might be good to have a familiar face for the group exercise and flight planning.

there will be screening.

Passion and dedication are the key!
Thanks

Plan to apply CX cadet: Within 3months
Aviation Background: HKYAA 2014
Phone/whatsapp: 1234 5678

MTBUR 18th May 2015 05:01

The above post is awesome - please can someone help him and assist with any info or tests pilotwannabehk can't be bothered getting for themselves.

If you want a study group - scout out people for yourself. You've asked for assistance before, maybe it's time to take a deep breath and pm someone also asking for help. But seriously don't go on about how you want to screen your study buddies. Or do. But if you do please post your results because someone not employed by the airline and asking for help for the interview process who somehow knows enough about the interview process would be a thumping good read.

As always, good luck but stop sitting back and expecting people to rush to you. Take that big step forward and do your own legwork.

pilotwannabehk 18th May 2015 05:47

MTBUR,
I might use the wrong word.
I just want to make sure the availability to attend the meeting

PPRUNE is good place to meet others who share the same passion.
I am very thankful for the help.

I do share with anyone asking for help

billafin 18th May 2015 21:25

How long did you guys who have had interviews recently (last 2-3months until now) have to wait after applying before CX replied to you? Were you CPP AE or TT?

Thanks for the info!

pilotwannabehk 19th May 2015 00:55

received invitation for 1a two weeks after application
had 1a one month after application

billafin 19th May 2015 03:06

Was that for AE pilotwannabehk?

pilotwannabehk 19th May 2015 03:14

Cadet interview

billafin 19th May 2015 03:15

ah okay. Thank you for the answers and best of luck to you! Waiting for a response to an AE application now :{

seymoreskye 19th May 2015 09:11

4 months from first screeing to contract offer. AE

billafin 19th May 2015 22:04

seymoreskye, how long after you applied did they first contact you?

seymoreskye 20th May 2015 10:34

I applied back in 2012 before they closed it. Back then I had 0 hours.

Then I updated my application initially in late November 2014 and received an email in Jan.

It is all about location for AE and where the roadshows are happening. If you are waiting for a UK interview for example, you won't hear anything until they are ready to start recruitment days in the UK. Maybe 2/3 weeks before said date

andrewyan08 20th May 2015 17:20

seymoreskye,

How many hours did you have when they contacted you?

billafin 20th May 2015 20:24

"It is all about location for AE and where the roadshows are happening. If you are waiting for a UK interview for example, you won't hear anything until they are ready to start recruitment days in the UK. Maybe 2/3 weeks before said date"

In regards to this, I checked the box on the application that said I preferred my interview to be in HK (rather than home country), does the road show still matter in this case?

seymoreskye 21st May 2015 10:08

All I can say is keep current, keep updating your profile and keep it recent. Hours are not a factor as long as you qualify for their minimums. They are dealing with an incredible amount of applications at the moment and I have no doubt this number is only going to increase as road shows begin.

Someone stated it is mostly AUS being recruited due to favoritism, this is not true. Reason being is that for the last few months they have been actively recruiting in Australia on roadshows. This means that at the moment AUS candidates coming through is a high number. This will change as CX reach USA/UK/EU ect.

In regards to having HK interview locations on your profile that is good. However, I am not sure if HR look at your current residency and go by that?
example:

If it was me, I would look at your two options being HK and let's say USA(miami), Then I would notice you are currently LIVING in Miami. I would therefore keep your CV on file until recruitment hits MIA. It would be easier for both parties to organize the interview I feel.

This is merely my opinion and with everything else, I am probably wrong!! :ok::ok:

Hope this helps you out?

Keep the faith, keep flying and you will get the call if they find you suitable.

Hello everyone.. I would like to know whether having an orthodontic surgery (relocating the position of jaws with titanium plates fixing them afterwards for the rest of my life) would be a disadvantage of my application?

Greatly appreciate any responses! Thanks!

As long as it doesn't prevent you from passing a Cat 1 medical, no it won't.
