Dreamlinerwannabe,

I passed the IT, in regards to the maths, I did Q1, Q2 and Q3 with calculations and then only had around 5 mins to do the rest of the other questions which I read through and made estimation with guesses.

My approach was quality over quantity, its hard to approach the maths test in quantity to try and tackle all 7 questions + sub questions with estimation/guesses, although it is possible!

As for the English, well my first language is English so I def had no problems with the English test.

You should have guessed the other questions, no harm in doing so.

Dreamlinerwannbe,

There are many possible reasons why they turned you down. Maybe you didn't do well on the English Listening test, (Totally understandable, specially if English is not your primary language), maybe the questions you did on the maths test are not all correct. And by the way, just because somebody who got by without going through the entire paper doesn't mean that it will happen on you. If there are some guys in your batches, say 10, who hit 10/20 or 15/20 then obviously they win, you lose. Yes, it is Competitive. but that's about it.

I guess what greatbattle is trying to say is, everything is taken into consideration!

The paper probably is marked as a total overall with maths and english results together, so for instance if you did really well in the english test, those marks would pull you up if you didn't do so well in the maths test, but thats my opinion.

It could also be some candidates did poor in both referring to what greatbattle said on the results.

Hi all

I have done initial test on 7/8 and ap test yesterday. The initial test was pretty easy to me except the in-house listening.
I couldnt hear anything in 1st part and just a little bit in 2nd part. Fortunately the 3rd one was easy.
Numerical test as I remember there were 20 questions and I got time to complete 15 or 16 and I am pretty sure my accuracy is more than 90%.
Only the question about volunteer I had to make reasonable guess.

Ap test really sucks. Deviation indicator was far more difficult than I expected.
I scored just 5 out of 10 in 3 graded trials. For other single tasks(or even 2 in 1 task)I think most people could manage them well.
But for the triple one(deviation indicator, number count and colour shapes),I suppose it's impossible to be done by me.
My score was negative in that task. And the last task was to fly the plane, pretty much the same as deviation indicator and the aeroplane was hard to be controlled well.
So my score was not outstanding(5 or 6 as I remember).
Overall I did my ap test badly..(Hopeless to enter next stage I suppose)

Eluk, have you received call?
I had my AT today and did very bad too. Quite similar to your performance.

DI: 4 4 4
Color & Shape: totally missed 1
man: all correct (i guess)
2 in 1: (counting+DI) 2 miss
2 in 1: (shape+DI) 0 miss
3 in 1: 8 hit 9 miss
Plane: 4 6 6

Probably little chance to go to next round
Did anyone do AT recently? share your results?

Has anyone else out there been contacted within the week after the AT?

supersam92,

I also had my AT today, this was my score:

Deviation Indicator, 7-8-9
Irregular Shapes, scored around 7-8/10 which is just a guess!
Three Figures - 1-2 misses overall did reasonable well on this exercise
Shapes and Table – 2 misses on the 1st attempt, accidently pressed the button!, 1 miss on the 2nd attempt
Dev + Number Series (2 in 1) – (TBH I can't remember the result, I had more misses than hits in this task)
Dev + Shapes and Colours (2 in 1), 1-2 Misses
Dev + Number Series + Shapes and Colours (3 in 1), 7 hits, 6 misses
Fly the plane, 4-5-5

Overall the tasks were not hard! I could have done better in the 2in1 (Dev+num) and 3in1.

I could only wish and hope I get the phone call for the initial interview!

BTW @ supersam92, did you do the Irregular Shapes, as in the 2 pictures where you have to find the shape?

supersam92,

I wouldn't worry too much, IMO the paper is marked as an overall, so where you done poorly, the areas you done quite well in will pull the mark up! Although the problem lies when other candidates score better in every task in comparison!

Flying the plane was not easy! You scored 6 twice, thats good!

Fingers crossed and good luck to both of us!

Unhappy AT result

I done my AT last Friday, here is my score:

Deviation Indicator, 4-8-8
Irregular Shapes, around 8-9
Three Figures - 1-2 misses
Shapes and Table - 11 hits and no misses twice
Dev + Number Series (2 in 1) – 1-2 misses i think
Dev + Shapes and Colours (2 in 1) - No misses
Dev + Number Series + Shapes and Colours (3 in 1) - 7 hits, 6 misses
Fly the plane - 6-8-8

Lady told me would need to wait 6 weeks.

Logged in to check just there,
"We are unable to accept your application within a 12 month period of your previous application. If you wish to re-apply for the Cadet Pilot Programme, please do so at the appropriate time."

Think I'd start crying.....
