Hi there, I would not be the best to answer that as it is medical standards related. However, what I can share is that the Doctor will perform a movement test of your legs and knee-jerk reflexes, during the medical assessment.

Cheers

TOEFL Important?

The following excerpt is from the SIA website:

For candidates without credits in English at GCE ‘O’ Levels or its equivalent, you must produce additional proof of English proficiency:
o IELTS – Minimum Band 7 (out of 9); or
o TOEFL – Minimum score: Computer based – 250, Paper Version – 600; or
o Certificate of Completion for English Language Course

Without a TOEFL, but with 2 trimesters spent taking an English Language Course as part of a Degree program, would I meet the requirements?

Any feedback is greatly appreciated!

Hey guys! I'm new here!

I am in my final sem in NTU, graduating in May. Do you think I should apply for SIA cadet pilot now or after I grad?

Also, if they were to ask if I would give up my degree for flying, how should I be responding hmmmmm

Hello! I think you can try to apply now since the whole hiring process may take some time. if they were to ask you if you would give up your degree for flying, i can't give you an answer to that but what i can recommend is to tell them the truth from the bottom of your heart. just be genuine because they are very good interviewers, they know when you're lying just to make them like you.

Also, there is a SIA talk in SMPS today! 20th Feb. do check it out.

Eyesight

This is urgent and any feedback is greatly appreciated

SIA lists not more 200 astigmatism on each eye on their website

I am sitting nice and pretty on the border at 200 and 225. My question is how strict or lenient are their requirements (from previous experience). Really, any feedback is appreciated.

I'm not sure how long this SIA cadet window will be open for. If you love your degree then I'd say complete that. Or why not just apply and go through the process and postpone your decision at the latest opportunity.
