Wow im really inspired by White Oaks encouragement. He seems like a really wonderful guy who knows his stuff. He seems to be the type who really can inspire us to be the best and to make use of our capabilities to the fullest. Whiteoak I sure hope you become my batch mate. What a wonderful guy...

Congrats to you guys on the offer! May I know when did you go for the medical? Just to get an idea on the waiting period between the medical and reply from SIA.

It mostly depends on how long notice you need to quit your current job as well as course availability.
I did my medicals on 23 Sep, ought to have entered 25 Nov OBS but due to some miscommunications about my notice period, I ended up with the 6 Jan OBS. One of the fellas who did medicals with me started his OBS on 13 Oct as he was unemployed at that point in time.

Hi,
I'm currently waiting for confirmation from SIA as well. Apparently, my batch went for the medicals on 11 Nov, out of 5, 3 of them have got the confirmation already! Contract should be on its way to them now. They're starting on the 6 Jan too... Except for another unlucky guy & me...
Hope that the wait wouldn't be long...

Kenn here... Its good entering this forum, I don't feel alone in this long, stretching wait!!!
I've done my medical a week ago and still waiting... Heard from Edward (admin officer) there during my second interview that the course in Jan 6 might not start if they dun get enough ppl...
Not sure how true is that, but nothing is concrete until you sign the contract...
Was hoping to get into the Lumut course... sounds like more fun than ubin...

First post here. Found out this thread after clearing all the interviews, 1st..2nd. Well, just got an email from SIA, confirmation of clearing my medicals and employment pass.. and fitting in for the Jan 6 batch. asdfg (if i'm not mistaken) and me are from the same interview batch.. 15Nov.

During our 2nd interview on the 23rd Nov, Edward told us that the Jan course was a request that they never had. He mentioned that its likely there wouldn't be enough ppl to start b'cos those still working would only want to tender their resig. after this work yr, which would then entitle them for their bonus...
But i think otherwise... those which are able to start imm. will be pushed into the Jan course, so from various batches, they are able to select the imm. ones...
This is just my opinion. When did u receive your confirmation and how was it made known to you? Hopefully i'll rx mine by next week...

Congrats on your acceptance by SQ. My first interview was on the 23 NOv, so i suppose my confirmation will come in next week if everything goes on smoothly...
I hope the Jan course goes on smoothly too... So far there're 6 of u guys in this forum, but there will be many others out there not involved in this forum...
When i saw the list of ppl that came for medical, there was quite a fair bit... at least 20 of them incl. me...
Hope I get into the same course as u guys, keeping mua fingers crossed. Also heard from someone that we won't be the only guys in the OBS, heard that stewardesses etc will be involved too... dun know how true...
But, weren't we given the Lumut OBS form to fill in?? If that's the case, I'm not so sure if Lumut or Ubin will be our start point...

May i know which interview batch you're from? Or rather, when was your medical done? Do you still remember the date...
I was told the reply would be between 2-3 weeks from the medical date... so, i'm just trying to predict when i would rx mine. Hee...
