I think that the 10 commands recently advertised are for additional airframes. If it was just to cover attrition back to QF it wouldn't require a sudden round of recruiting.

Commercial and HR are finally discovering that aeroplanes actually need someone to fly them. So if you bring in extra airframes then you need extra pilots regardless of some arbitrary recruitment...

Have you not heard of the "facilitation fee" Peter? A rather large sum of money that goes to Jetstar. They also get paid less than a direct entry F/O when they first start.

I wouldn't be so sure that the MOU guys will be staying at Jetstar in large numbers. The guys on MOU will have to resign from QF to stay at Jetstar so those on the highest level of QF super won,t be...

Their parents are funding the rest of training. Most cadets I fly with usually come from a financially secure background.
