Gear UP - Uses the hydrolic power to raise the gear.

Gear OFF - Releases the hydrolic power and alows the gear to hang in it's locks.

Gear OFF is selected a couple of minutes into the climb.

Not gona happen because Pilots have to have a different meal from one another to reduce chances of both getting food posining.

They might have diverted a 747 there if it needed to because they can use the end bit which has a round end to do a handbrake turn so it can stop.

Looking at the tail and the registration it looks like someone has repainted the aircraft in Paint Shop Pro. That is what the new titles look like though because it was shown in their inflight...

I don't know the solution, but I always have had the same problem. The IAE's are the more powerful engines and are better, although I think it will still overshoot!

Likely to be a software fault...

Jordon, a tail strike is simply when, on take off or landing the pilot 'pulls back' too much causing the rear of the aircraft to strike the runway.
