I flew with some guys who were in the US military; if I remember, they told me there are aero clubs on the base but I guess you have to be based there to do that but I could be wrong.

Don't do LASIK unless it is absolutely necessary. Dunno about CX but a friend of mine at KA doesn't have very good eyes and still okay. Get the OFFICIAL word from CX first. LASIK is not fail proof....
