You are right about the Gecat figures at Gatwick, but there is another company at Gatwick which will do the B737 type rating for approx 15000 pounds inc base training and vat.

I got one for about 6K several years ago to help convert my FAA licences to CAA(UK). I had no problem in getting one from Barclays.

I think you would just have to resit the whole thing again, but there comes a point when the CAA tell you to do some mandatory retraining. I don't think the CAA have a black book...
