200 EUR/Hour

I think the 200 GBP/hour is a bit much, I would estimate closer to 200 EUR/hour or roughly 2 EUR per NM. I actually did precisely what you are describing in a 172M at intervals before buying my own...

landing

Slowing things down can make it easier to land (especially in benign weather conditions). That might mean a long 60 knot final.

Later you'll need to learn how to fly 80 knot, 70 knot, 65 knot,...

"What if we holders of EASA PPL do a conversion to FAA, would that allow us flying of an N registered aircraft in all EU member states?"

Yes (FWIW I hold both FAA & EASA PPLs).

182 is fine

There should be no problem with primary in a 182, especially if you plan to own it. It's not that complicated a plane.

perfect lesson

sounds like a great lesson to me… the whole reason you do x-countries in training (and good to know you had no access to gps!)

"My wife asked my 12 year old daughter…."

My, oh my… she carried the glasses for you without a lot of lip, and you're complaining?

This is not about experience; it's about adolescence, about...

This is to be hoped for. Do you think extension is likely?

FAA G-Reg

I own a G-REG and have only an FAA license. By April 8, 2016 I'll have to have an EASA validation or license. So until then you shouldn't have a problem, at least from the Regulations side. If you...

Upgrading a Tiger

If the airframe is clean and the engine looks good, it could be worth it. A sorted out Tiger would bring more money than the asking for this plane. I would say it's worth a close look by an...

If that's wet, 120/hour sounds cheap!

FAA in EASA land

In Europe, you can fly G-REG on your FAA license until April 7 2016. It's worth asking whether Irish registry planes can be flown on your license. If not, there might be both G- & N-Regs which...

2 lessons

I would say two a day. Your brain needs time to process the lessons. A third lesson might be effective some days, but not others. I would fear you're wasting money unless you have a practical test...

fly more often

Consider getting another instructor and fly at least twice a week. You're flying too rarely and it appears to be damaging your confidence. Nothing you've described sounds that unusual. If you want...

I live in Moscow. In fact, I started my training at airfields outside the city. Interestingly enough, my plane is now in Ireland & I'm considering moving it to Lithuania at the end of October (or...

GPS

When I got a Garmin 696 several years ago, I thought it was amazing. Still is, but my recommendation now would be Skydemon on an IPad mini with GPS. The updates for the 696 cost me near $500/yr.

PPL

I think you should be able to get it done for something on the order of $10-12,000, especially if you avoid glass cockpits. However, one thing I like about the quote you got is that they assume it...

Baltic Flying Club

If you can make it to Vilnius or Riga, I might be able to help you out. I will be basing a G-Reg Rallye 180 there & am open to admitting a few members.
