Faa 737 Type Rating

Does anyone know if it is worthwhile trying to save some money and do an FAA 737 Type Rating then converting it to a JAA one ??? Is this possible and is there still a chance of a job if it is done...

as far as I know the student pays a flat rate and the school covers everything else including all landings, lets hope this is the case, we can find out when it opens, but it says unlimited landings...
