Note that the initial part of the flight was close to what the Qantas Catalinas flew on the Double Sunrise flights Perth to Ceylon. The B787 was a tad quicker though.

This morning at YSSY in the after 0600Z curfew rush a B744 had to perform a go around.
So far there haven't been any reports of passengers panicking, with "we thought we were going to die"...

With QF off the route some will try Hawaiian, but probably only once. Their service is good and the food OK (only out od SYD) but the seats are terrible....
