It is so unfair when these schools quote the FAA...

It is so unfair when these schools quote the FAA minimums required to obtain your license.

The bottom line is that is is very rare (If not impossible) to obtain your license with the FAA...

It would be much cheaper just to buy the book...

It would be much cheaper just to buy the book rather than print out 1023 pages! If you train in the states, most flight schools require you to carry the book with you in your flight bag.

Airborne is a good school and KFXE is a great place to train. The weather in south Florida is really nice and you can fly almost every day.

There is a new school at KFXE called Ft Lauderdale...

I wouldn't shy away from a grass air strip. It will make you a better pilot if you have this experience. You need to do what you feel comfortable with.
