Flight Planning etc

Yep, flight planning is in and working at Muppet Labs. But we wanted to get a version out there ASAP. Look for flight planning as per Sunfish etc. ('touch and plan') later in the year. Also NAIPs...

This'll be interesting ...

With the current and pending iPad flight apps at a tenth the cost (albeit not integrated in with other avionics for a start) a true battle for the cockpit is being set up.

At the risk of self promotion, check out a free iPhone Apo called TAFGRAF which shows TAFs as an easily interpreted picture. Apologies to the pros.

I didn't have a problem reaching all the controls (perhaps I have a long left arm - aka a fiddler crab). I lean forward and reach over the collective bar. I've seen others mount 530's etc....

Yeh, funny, had the same thought. I doubt that it would be legal as you are now transmitting. You just have to fly in company with a "big bird".

I have one fitted in an R44 and interfaced to a Garmin 495. It works very well and has helped me out quite a few times in the busy VFR areas around Sydney. I even had it work ~200nm south of Alice...

Echo comments by others - it's a good (great?) advance on the 495/496. Easy to operate (a bit like a cross between a 495 and GNS 430). Excellent screen size (about 2.5 times the 496) - as others say...
