Between LAX - SYD in Y the product on QF and VA is better than UA/AA/DL. Obviously, if things like toilets become u/s that makes the experience much less pleasant.

I haven't flown on a QF 787 so...

Good point, they are now 75 Rial, which isn't that much. I suspect that might be a bit too off script, those tours take one back to the airport not the hotel, which is where I want to go....

Technically that is correct from a legalistic view, but heavy fines for the carrier at other end for arriving with no travel document without prior approval. As is it is for arriving here.
