Why not record the cockpit sound for many more hours on a conventional recorder able to record hours of conversation (possibly video also) a robust HD might survive a crash but such a device might...

Looking at photos of the 777 at SFO - I cannot imagine the condition of a 787 and the survivability in a similar accident. Not good I suspect.

Not sure that I would fancy getting on a 787

I flew Maxjet a year ago - service was amazing for the money.

Always struck me as an unsustainable business model.

Good luck to the staff they were very pleasant and helpfull
