I did all the written exam and radio practical within 18 months, and then passed the skill test and handed in the application form in person to CAA Gatwick, just before the 2 year period...

Hi just to add my experience to the debate.
I started my ppl 3 years ago, and paid upfront for a 45 hour course. Paid with credit card plus surcharge.
There was no problem wiith the flying club....

Diamond DA42 stranded at Gatwick

Couple of weeks ago a Shoreham based DA42 ligth twin apparently diverted into Gatwick, it's still sitting on the ground and cordoned off, anyone know what's happened. Parking fee must be enormus.:(
