I haven't used NextG in the bush yet but it is flawless for checking TAFs & Metars along the NSW coast.
As far as CDMA goes, I have used my laptop to check weather at 10,000 ft over the Simpson...

I would have to agree, PocketFMS is about the best I have seen. It's easy to enter data on a PC or PDA and transfer data between the two. Great flight-planning, automatic air-space avoidance routing...
