Cheap to employ? Why should they be seen as cheap to employ? They've been shafted once through no fault of their own so I can't see why they should be shafted again.

Whilst I think this is a good idea a better idea would have been to have petitioned for tax breaks on professional pilot training rather than just asking for support.

On a similar note am I required to hold a valid MECR for a typerating, I have a ME IR but my MECR has just expired. Does that mean my ME IR reverts to a SE IR?

Get yourself the Oxford Met CD - it makes some fairly complex ideas far easier to understand. Once you have a good grasp of the subject I would suggest signing up for the Bristol Ground School online...
