Gulfstream 5 - circling near EMA this PM

A pal of mine says he saw this - and claims it was reported at 700 ft on Plane Finder - he personally saw it what he described as low over Nottinghamshire. It seems to have been following some odd...

Thanks - I would expect my super-spotter badge if I could tell the difference between Merlin and Griffon at this distance (or indeed probably at any distance!)
It was great sound - sorry I didn't...

EMA This morning something Merlin Engined

I live about 6 miles South of EMA Several times this morning heard the distinctive sound of a Merlin Engine - finally caught sight of it flying off the port wing of (I think) a 737-800 (I could only...

I'd be interested in the supply side of this. From my last two years summer hols in Turkey, it's apparent that you can basically get as powerful a laser as you like and give to your kids (or let...

In short, yes. Having been to Cuba, it's lousy with Canadians who seem to love it that their trading links are running so well in the face of the US embargo. As you say (or at least imply) there's...

Thomson TOM 7730/1 Lanzarote 27/8-11-2010

Interesed in hearing from any SLF or staff in relation to this flight - particularly the outbound EMA-ACE that attempted to land at ACE and then diverted due to tailwinds (and rules about night...

4 Engined Turboprop Nr EMA

I live south of EMA and this afternoon we were overflown by a 4 engined turboprop airliner - it didn't sound like a Viscount, but I thought it was too small to be a Brittania, and in any case, I...

Cruising heights UK vs Australia

In Feb we flew a 737-800 between Brisbane and Sydney. IIRC about a 1.40 flight - cruise at 43,000. Here (starting in UK) on similar legs on similar a/c we don't seem to top 24,000 - why's that?

This just occurred to me as I saw a jet airliner pass overhead in the dark. The Green and Red Nav lights were clearly visible as it approached, but not after it passed over - then all I could see...
