Ryanair Dublin EMA 27th March

Apologies if this has been done but I couldn't find it on a search. My sis was on board - normal take off, but they made an a fairly quick return to Dublin where Firecrew were much in evidence. Pilot made reference to some tech problem with the aircraft (she wasn't at all concerned and didn't really take in what it was). I am not an expert, nor is she, not looking to have a go at Ryanair (I have flown with them a lot an intend to continue) or anyone in "the trade" my only qualifications are as an ex-baggage handler at EMA (in the 80s!) and an interest in aviation. Would just be interested in more detail on reasons for the return.

It was a flap assymetry problem. One of the skew sensors on the flaps detected a problem and therefore stopped the flaps from retracting (as it should) or extending (in normal mode). Turned out it was the skew sensor itself giving up the ghost and there was no problem with the flaps themselves. Fire service in attendance as is normal for any air turn back due to technical problems. They remained on stand with the a/c due to the brakes being very hot.
