I would have thought if the student used his own version of checklist and it included ALL the parts of the CFIs requirements then the flight is still safe and they should not fail a test.

Can anyone recommend a Life Insurance company that does not quote ridiculous monthly payments?

Best quotes I seen have been around £100-£120 per month !!!

You cannot start the CPL until you have completed the ATPL theory first. Also, that just gives you ATPL theory credits, you only get an ATPL(F) after you have completed the CPL/IR.
