Well done !! It's fantastic that because of your hard work and conviction other kids will not be abused by this pervert.

Caractacus 21st Jun 2003 16:57

It makes my flesh creep to think that I might be chatting with the likes of the Guvnor on this forum. It would be good if membership could be confined to those with a professional licence. It has been discussed before I know.

Danny has a stout heart in my view.

As the devoted Father of a little girl thank you very much.

clubley 21st Jun 2003 17:00

Thank Gog

Thank God,
That there are people who really care, Danny I am a Dad and a Wannabee, the thought of being con and my daughter being abused my an individual like that just turns me cold.
Great Work

One can only echo what all the others have said. My ex girlfriend is a child psychologist so I have heard all about how these pooor children suffer at the hands of such manipulative perverts.

I can only commend Capt PPRuNe on his dogged determination and conviction in pursuing this guy. Heartfelt congratulations and if you ever find yourself in Jeddah I'll buy you a meal!

planecrazi 21st Jun 2003 17:04

Well done Danny-
As a father of two, I am delighted about the true professionals there are, on this site and that such a site can keep our streets a little safer.:ok:

crundale 21st Jun 2003 18:02

Danny
A million congrats.
Like many others I followed the online "fight" between you and the Guvnor thinking he was just a harmless idiot who you didnt like.
Now tucking into humble pie with no cream, and have nothing but respect for your tenacity and dedication.
Well done.

I like 100% of the PPruner family have to congratulate Danny for this sterling job in the face of a lot of opposition. Would those who defended NDR like to stand up now and defend him again, I think not!

F:mad: with PPRuNe and pay the price!

JW411 21st Jun 2003 22:08

Well done indeed Danny. I hope they throw away the key!

dicksynormous 21st Jun 2003 22:29

Well done danny,
i lambasted this man in swahili on this board as soon as he surfaced (another life1999). he didnt understand a word of it.
nuff said.
slight tangent but:
maybe your efforts will help bring to light another problem in our business of people with creative licensing habits getting validations and harming more than a few people. The link? he bought a licence and was believable to many in the industry. they are out there at a european airport near you!

mad_jock 21st Jun 2003 22:32

Well done danny for having brought this pervert to book.

And can ppruners out there please have a look at the problems we are having in Scotland keeping Peterhead prison open.

They do sterling work there helping people with his mental problems. And they want to shut it down. The locals are happy with the work they do. The prisoners are getting the treament they need. And by all accounts its got the best rehabitation rates in europe and the bloody bean counters want to shut it.

I have also had the pleasure of flying with one of the prison officers who was present when the SAS went in. He had me in tears laughing. I wonder if they won the rugby match afterwards ;)

Cap'n Hero

Cap'n Danny,

I'm just a passerby, in the sense, I love those magnificent men ( and women ) and their flying machines and still run to the balcony to watch an exceptionally low flying plane, beyond that I know nothing of flying.
Discovering your site was great.
But it feels better to hear of your feat !
Boy, the kind of effort you have undertaken to get this:mad: guy off our lives is amazing ! Hope he doesn't come back in a hurry

BiG THUMBS UP TO DANNY !!!

Capetonian 22nd Jun 2003 00:16

Superb work, Danny, for bringing this monster to justice.

I remember him from his days in South Africa, where apart from the stuff mentioned in this article, which is well worth reading

http://flytristar.tripod.com/article/art06.html

he also conned a number of people in the industry into giving him finance for self ticketing machines. He must have convinced some pretty influential folk, because he was invited to address an ASATA (Association of South African Travel Agents) congress at the Wild Coast Sun in 1995 (give or take a year). At the time, he was taken as a harmless nutter, although he was quite defensive when challenged about the viability of his schemes. Little did we know ......!

QUOTE
The closest Robertson has come to being an airline tycoon was running two clapped-out freight planes from a dusty airstrip in Africa under the name of Africargo Airlines, which was not listed in any airline directories. But, as previously mentioned, Robertson boasted that the airline operated Boeing 747Fs, L-1011Fs and many propliners. And the thing is this even ended up in disaster. Seven months ago, both planes were blown up by explosions which killed more than 100 people.

Congratulations to Danny on seeing this through to a conclusion.

I am however at a loss to understand Caractacus's comment:

It would be good if membership could be confined to those with a professional licence. It has been discussed before I know.
Is there any evidence at all that the proportion of airline pilots who are child abusers is any different from the general population? I very much doubt it...

Genghis the Engineer 22nd Jun 2003 01:24

Very well done Danny (and others) on a bit of useful and moral perseverance. I hope we would all have the energy and moral conviction to do the same if we could or had to.

Re: Christep's comment above, surely the point made unless I missed something is that people who commit routine fraud and deception display similar traits to predatory paedophiles. An interesting point if true and one that perhaps many who come into contact with people of uncertain backgrounds (and many of us probably have) should bear in mind.

Re: the 2 cargo planes / 100 dead point. Is this true? Is it therefore suggested that this individual may also be implicated in 100+ deaths ?
