The easiest way to find the best 'spam' sites.

1. Sign up for a 'hotmail' account. .2. Give the new email address out to anyone on the net that wants it.. .3. Hey presto, more spam than you can shake a stick at.

Then just bin the hotmail account.

or

just give out the previously mentioned email address and cut out the middle man.

Cool

Why not try and find out the names of all who have been clamped, the time of day/night, the "offence" details (i.e., curled but legible pass) and then club together and brief a solicitor on a class action for psychological trauma/distress etc. Arriving home after a long flight in the wee hours to find a clamped vehicle and no remedy must surely cause significant distress, especially if alone (man/woman makes no odds) in the middle of a darkened or barely lit carpark. Add to this the stress induced by meanly worded threatening letters.

Just a thought

P.S. surely it would be sufficient for the parking company, if it perceives a transgression of the rules, to note the registration number, establish the ownership of the vehicle in question and then issue a letter on a "three strikes" basis (i.e. three such letters on same issue means a fine is imminent). If someone knew that a curly pass was not acceptable they would uncurl it!!! It seems that no-one is intentionally trying to breach whatever rules are in place...

Surprised I haven't seen this one yet. If you are clamped for a silly offense - not visible or curled ticket :

Pay by cheque.. .If they refuse, call the police - they have a legal requirement to release your car on payment.. .Stop the cheque. .Let them take you to court, the case is thrown out by the judge. .Send them demand for your expenses (don't expect any, just feels better)

SHAME – SHAME – SHAME - SHAME. .. .Sunday 3rd March 2001 – Time 0955. .. .Arrive Manchester Airport to find 2 Airport Authority vans parked in the disabled bays just inside the entry barrier to T1 Multi-Story Car Park on Level 5.. .. .Having parked my own vehicle in a legal space, proceeded down to the ground floor where the car park control unit seems to be – no access to building for the General Public. Go to pay-station and through intercom politely enquire as to whether they are aware of the illegally (?) parked vehicles – yes, comes the answer (obviously they have known for some time, and I am not the first to make comment), but I will have to speak to Car Park Supervisor on ext ….. .. .Go into main terminal and use internal phone and repeat the situation. Ask how long it will be until the vans are removed – seemed like a sensible question for a Sunday morning, and was told they had no idea as they were trying to trace the drivers! Suggested that it might be a good idea to have Excel come and clamp the vehicles – excuse me but who am I speaking to says the mystery voice at the other end of the phone. I politely explained that I am the husband of a disabled driver that (whilst she was not with me at the time) the spaces are provided for the use of disabled drivers and not MAPlc employees. Suggested that the vehicles be removed within 1 hour or be shamed on a web site.. .. .Sunday 3rd March – Time 1125hrs. .. .Vans are still parked in the same spaces. Have a word with airport police who, no surprise, say that is not their jurisdication. Ask that they make a note of the fact. Pay for my own car parking and then spot 4 traffic wardens. Again repeat my complaint to one of them – very helpful but again says that the spaces are not under her control, but that she will report the incident.. .. .Final drive through the Terminal 1 drop-off zone at 1140 and the vans were still there, but I did notice the traffic warden had been true to her word and had at least gone to look at the vehicles.. .. .If any MAPlc employees know who was driving L992GND & N955DEM then I suggest you let them know that they have been spotted! . .. .Come on Manchester Airport – stop the punishment of employees who park quite legitimately in Car Parks – and get your own house in order. Be Shamed.. .. .Scottie Dog. .. .Edited for better use of the English language!. . . . [ 03 March 2002, 13:41: Message edited by: Scottie Dog ]

As a point of interest, has anybody consulted BALPA at all on this matter. Might be interesting to hear what they suggest, in particular from a legal position. ie. What in plain english are the rights of car park users (not just Crew but all of us) and what recourse do we have.

A chum of mine in a similar situation once got a load of Pals together and each one rang the company in question up pretending to be a journalist from a different newspaper asking for a quote about whatever it was that the disagreement was about! I'm not for one minute saying that anyone should try this with Excel, however, but just mentioning it as a point of interest.......

Excel featured on East Midlands local TV last night. They issued a £60 parking ticket to a pensioner for parking 4inches over a white line in a tight parking space in an Ilkeston car park.He spent quite a lot of cash phoning the premium rate no.on the back of the ticket but surprise surprise didn`t get anywhere.

Further to Gin Slingers post, if you are an IPA member they ask that as well as writing to Mr Geoff Muirhead, MD, you let them have details as 'they can take matters further with the Airport authorities'. .. .IPA - £5 per month; IPF (IPA union) currently £5 per month.. .. . IPA

As alosaurus says - Let some air out of the tyre and drive out of the clamp - You can now purchase 12V compressors that attach to a car's fag lighter socket, you'll be able to reinflate and drive off in a couple of minutes. You can pick these units up for about a tenner. . .. .You leave the clamp undamaged, so no criminal charges.. . . . [ 06 March 2002, 08:51: Message edited by: thegirth ]

Getting the clamp off, unfortunately, is not a full answer. It won't stop them clamping you the next day or the one after. Also, all of the above suggestions which are essentially about committing petty acts of vandalism are likely to fail. The odd damaged clamp won't hurt Excel much and if you get done for criminal damage, what would you do for a living then?. .. .What WILL hurt them a great deal is losing their contract at Manchester Airport. This was a one year contract due for renewal around September. We need a concerted effort to lobby the airport management by letter, fax, local papers, or any other means and give them such grief that by then they are utterly sick of hearing the name Excel.

...just seen a letter from the Chief Exec of Manch Airport in which he admits the project is "self financing", i.e. that MAplc are taking a juicy cut from the cash ripped off airport staff. We suspected this all along but it is interesting to hear the culprit admit it.. .. .Interestingly also, the reason they give is complaints from staff regarding lack of supervision of the car park. This stems from a two week period in which all the barriers were left open. Predictably this caused chaos as members of the public parked for free, leaving flight crew with nowhere to go. It now looks like this whole fiasco was a deliberately set up to give them an excuse to embark on this money-grabbing venture.

Why not buy your own clamp? Fit the clamp when you park and place copies of the appropiate notices on the windscreen. Then on return, remove your clamp, place in boot and drive off!!!. .. .
