PIA hiring temporary 777 pilots
I am also not a pilot but I enjoy reading these posts as pilots generally have a more open view of the industry than my own profession.. .. .As for the spelling and grammer, if you think this is bad have a look at www.airmech.co.uk. .now that is bad!!!!

Cosmo,. .. . Good for you. You sound like an introvert.. .. .M.Mouse,. .. . krod. (That is DORK backwards). .. .Yes, I am sure PIA doesn't pay very well, and the food is lousy. But, a used BA 777 is waiting for you to fly it----if someone wants it.. .. .And for those of you who aren't pilots, I think it is good you are on this forum. Besides being a pilot, I enjoy aviation as a whole, too.. .. .Thanks. Donkey Duke

Now that you mention it, Donkey Duke, it is an interesting point you bring up. Many Pakistani gentlemen share the very same tender feelings as yours, they prefer not to be in Karachi. Ask any cab driver at La Guardia. A perplexing situation is it not?. .. .So let’s take a quick vote; anyone ever had any significant problem at all laying over in Karachi, Quito, Bogota, Lima, Bucharest, or Mexico City? (Bash away at NYC if you like, you’re just jealous)

Bugg Smasher,. .. .Hmmmmm. Well, what would you think if the hotel van driver had to carry a weapon to protect the incoming and outgoing crews? How about when the van driver has to take different driving routes to and from the airport to the hotel because of potential threats to the crews. All of those places had that exact situation. So why do it?. .It's called being on reserve. And, the airline makes plenty of dough on the pax because those pax are probably the "elite" of that country because they can actually afford a plane ticket.. .Have you ever been to any of those cities? I'm sure you have had some of those same types of situations. You know what they say....the best words to hear in Mexico City is "Contact Departure." Take it easy.. .. .Thanks. Donkey Duke... I suggest that you get a bit more worldwide experience than North and South America before you shoot your mouth off and expose your ignorance. You will soon learn that the media paints far more of a black picture than actually exists... anything else wouldn't be news worthy. I frequently visit supposed hell holes in Africa, Asia and South America and can guarantee that one will find a more friendly welcome there than a lot of "civilised" Western destinations.

I'd take Quito over KORD any day. Or Varicopas. Or Santiago. Or Dubai. Only place I ever got scared was Lagos. Most of the rest of the world is a blast. Just brush your teeth with bottled water!. .. .Bogota is looking sketchy recently - we had a crew button up an empty plane and get out of there last week. Seems they saw all the cargo personnel leaving the area and thousands of troops deploying around the field.

Skiver,. .. . Hey dumb@ss, re-read my statement. I had Bucharest (ROMAINIA) in there----and that was because I said it was like a third world country. I guess I just flew there direct from the States and then flew directly out of there, right? Wrong---you bonehead. I have flown all over Europe----Frankfurt, London, Wein, Salzburg, Munich, Budapest, Belgrade (Which is another "hole" I didn't include) Paris CDG, Rome, Milano, Barcelona, and Madrid. . .. .So how about you MR. Skiver? Ever seen North or South America? Are you flying for EASY and never will? That is what I thought. . .. .Thanks. MR. Skiver,. .. . Ooops, I had to re-read yours and found out that you do see a lot of the world---well good for you. But that doesn't mean other people do not. Talk about arrogance----let me guess--you fly for BA? Hmmmmm. Well, I could talk about you guys being afraid to let other American airlines fly and compete out of LHR, but I won't.. .I could talk about BA falling apart financially,. .but I won't. I don't want to spread the "I know it all because I fly 747's around the world mentallity" around. Remember Skiver, you may be lucky to see what you see, but it all may be pulled out from under you in a second---so instead of gloating, try reflecting. You may be back flying Shorts Skyvans with rubber dog sh@t in the cargo hold between Guernsey and Liverpool . .someday soon.. .. .Thanks. Donkey Duke (I fly "Heavy jets" too, you bonehead!)

PIA are paying their pilots lousy pay because they are trying to save money and bring the airline into profit the pilots know this and recently PIA have been doing well. Secondly at the moment Pakistan is quite safe and it is not dangerous or risky to fly in or out of Pakistan. I flew last month to Pakistan with PIA and the amount of security checking i had to go through was much much more than what i went through at LHR. They even had army men armed with guns standing at the door of the aircraft in Pakistan!. .What happened to Daniel Pearl was tragic and out of order but he was a journalist and these things happen, im sure it's happened to other journalists around the world before.

Mutt,. .. . What? All I am saying about Pakistan is that it might not be a good idea for Westerners to go there right now due to the current turmoil in the region. You don't agree with that? You haven't been watching the news lately? Most pople in Pakistan don't like people from the U.S., Britian,. .or other Westernized countries. (According to recent Gallup polls) But, they like our money. . .. .And Mutt, what is your problem? You come off a little hostile. You also must have some internal problems. If you re-read my initial post, you will discover that I was just stating that working in Pakistan right now might be a little risky for westerners. Then you go off on a weird tangent saying the U.S. is to blame for the world's problems. You want us to look in the mirror? What? Why? You are just jealous. Please, don't go away mad, just go away!. .. .Thanks. Donkey Duke

Thanks sevenfourseven, atleast somebody understands what I mean. No disrespects to . .any Pakistanies, I just don't think it's safe right now for any Westerners to go over there until everything settles down. Am I wrong?. .Not to worry, it's all good! Snap!. .. .Thanks. Donkey Duke
