Not great flying East tonight
As has been reported many diverts South tonight due worrying escalations. 3 staff on various airlines all going over Egypt heading into ME. I hope Cairo ATC are on the ball.

Not to worry, FlyDubai and Emirates are back to flying through Iran, only hours after Iran fired 200 or so missiles at Israel. It’s not like we can expect anything warlike flying in the other direction anytime soon?

You guys think Israel will sent out a NOTAM with attack information if they strike back? You think FlyDubai og Emirates have detailed information about possible targets in Iran and know how to route around these?

Lokks like wizzair 7188 (A6-WAA) from EVN to AUH just flew through it, and they kept flying throught Iran till destination.
Wondering if the crew is gonna be questioned ?

Israel seeks to reverse EU’s advice to avoid its skies as foreign carriers nix flights
After briefly resuming services to Tel Aviv, many European airlines suspend their flights for longer periods, leaving Israelis stranded abroad with local airlines fully booked.
Efforts by Israeli officials to put pressure on Europe’s aviation regulator to reverse its guidance to avoid Israeli airspace for the coming month might be a case of too little, too late. That’s as a majority of foreign airlines are scrapping their services to the country for an extended period, leaving tens of thousands of Israelis stranded overseas and others unable to go on holidays.
The European Commission and European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) issued a warning over the weekend “not to operate within the airspaces of Lebanon and Israel at all flight levels,” citing “an overall intensification of air strikes and degradation in the security situation.”Israel’s Transportation Minister Miri Regev, together with the Civil Aviation Authority, have been holding talks with EASA officials in recent days to try and convince the European agency to cancel the warning regarding Israeli airspace.

I don’t think it was a BA Aircraft, nothing was in the area at the time, only EK416/206 seemed to pass by Shiraz at around launch time. That is certainly Shiraz in the video.
Certainly was some other aircraft who seemed to be in the launch area however, lucky this time it seems, certainly a stark reminder to ops departments moving forward, no notice given here it seems, just fire away.

Just pax’d DXBLGW on EK. Crew advised slightly longer flight time due avoiding certain airspace. According to Airshow we flew up the gulf well away from Iran then virtually due west across Saudi staying well south of Israel, Lebanon etc and then turned north over Egypt.

Thats the standard route at the moment for a lot of carriers. With all the issues in Africa it must be making life difficult / busy for Egyptian ATC, as anything routing to Eastern Africa is going that way as well due to issues in Algeria and central Sahara areas.

Greece , Cyprus and Cairo are taking a hit ATC wise, at the moment, it should not last much longer . Staff shortage in Athens ACC meant they were already working round the clock this Summer, and now this. Not good

As far as we are concerned, the company's security department is entirely responsible. They asked some aircraft to turn back, but not this one’, said Laurent Veque, a board member of the Syndicat national des pilotes de ligne, section Air France. ‘As the risk is known, it is impossible to take it’, he lamented on LCI on Wednesday 9 October. ‘Light must be shed (...) The health, safety and working conditions committee (CSSCT) will certainly be called in today, we want to know what happened’, he added.
Ballistic missiles travel at a higher altitude than airliners. But according to LCI, the pilots of flight AF662 ‘saw the missiles from the cockpit’, information that Air France did not wish to comment on. Elsewhere it's stated that havng been warned of a possible attack, AF had decided to avoid Iraq airspace from 1700z on 1 October. AF662 exited Iraq airspace shortly before that time. Unfortunately Itan started its attack at around 1645z.

We are always nice 
, I used that sentence once to an Aeroflot IL62 in the good old days after I suggested a heading to avoid a CB, which the pilot refused, and ,when I said " OK, good luck then" , he ( well the translator doing the radio at least ) replied ," Thank you but we do not need luck we have a good aircraft ." .
