Agreed! I answered a knock on our door a while back to find a chap who tried to get me to sign up to a monthly contribution to what he described as “your local” air ambulance. He launched into a sales pitch, telling how important it was, etc etc.
My first thought was that he might be a fraudster. He seemed to have authentic I.d. but it was immediately obvious from it that he was trying to get me to sign up to support a unit that wasn’t our local one at all. I pointed out he was in the wrong county! He asked me why I was saying that and I pointed out that I was in the industry and worked from the same airfield as the unit he was collecting for. I also told him that “my local” air ambulance was about sixty miles from the one he was representing, that a friend was chief pilot of that unit and we already supported that one. The chap got quite defensive and grumpy; needless to say he didn’t get my bank details. |
Interesting also on Companies House website for HELI SERVICE INTERNATIONAL LIMITED (12820744) Registered office address changed from Pegasus House 463a Glossop Road Sheffield S10 2QD United Kingdom to C/O Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance Hems Way, Off Sleaford Road Bracebridge Heath Lincoln LN5 2GW on 22 April 2021. |
Do they have a UK AOC or in the motions of applying?
|
Applying as I understand it. Also they don’t hold an NVIS approval according to their website https://www.heliservice.de/en/helise...s-and-permits/ . Do they have any NVIS experience in their team?

Have HeliServices been granted a U.K. AOC? It should only take 3 months from application and this has been in their pipeline for some time so they must have received it by now?

Anyone know if they would likely be using G-reg aircraft?

Lincs & Notts Air Ambulance just tweeted about the arrival of their second helicopter, A109 G-RSCU (owned by Sloane according to GINFO). The aircraft will cover the Lincolnshire coast until 31st August.

I believe this is only surge capacity to cater for the greater number of people holidaying in the UK (staycations).
SAS still operate an AW169 for LNAACT until HeliService take over later in the year. However, for whatever reason SAS do not seem to provide the additional helicopter. |

Has SAS’ involvement in Lincs come to an end now? Their 169 flew back to Gloucester in the middle of the day on the 1st Sep and doesn’t seem to have flown back north.
G-RSCU is still operating, but has been doing so from the main base for the last few weeks rather than over at Strubby. |
