These are fantastic pictures. A colleague of mine has done Everest (in fact he completed the Seven Summits last year). I can see why he loves this part of the world so much.

nuthin 22nd Mar 2014 14:02

I hope everyone can appreciate the fuel management that goes into working in that environment. I go down to those levels when moving something heavy and fuel is right there but doing it when the fuel is far away is a very different exercise.

Tis indeedly an awesome place to fly (albeit very seriously challenging) & live :)
---------------------------------------------------

G'day nuthin

Your right Brother, to achieve the lifts here often to fly back to my fuel stash can be 8-10mins away so often landing with 7 or 8usgals which at these ultra high altitudes is your 20 mins  except when doing Rescues above 20,000' then I am landing with 35-40litres on gauge on the AS350B3+ which is about 12-15mins, but You gotta do that or You won't pick up the Patient :ooh: You need that eXtra leverage :=

Happy Landings :ok:

TheChitterneFlyer 23rd Mar 2014 10:38

Fantastic photo's VF. They bring back memories of a famine relief operation I flew during 1980 (Operation Khana Cascade)... RAF C130 airdrop of food and medical supplies.

Keep up your good work.

Ciao
