Sorry, my misunderstand :-)

Abingdon Airfield

What was Abingdon Airfield is now an Army base. The MOD rent it out for all sorts of events.

The northern end is further away from dog walkers and was good enough for the Apache boys when they had an exercise last summer.
You would need toilets, marque, fuel etc.

If this was workable I have a pig roasting machine which I would happily fire up - all profit could go to a charity of your choice.
Abingdon was / is also the home of the RAF glider school - they have a mobile control tower and possibly a bunch of cadets - maybe you could rope them in?

Considering the almighty b@lls up the MOD appear to have made of the Abingdon Air Show this year, I'm not sure it's a good choice...!

True but could they cock it up twice in a row 😳
Even though I live by the camp I have no idea what the issue was - I heard it was paperwork for the airshow but I have no idea if it’s a by event thing or a annual paperwork issue.

Yeovilton does not understand aviation!
They have driven out there own flying clubs.
Dealing with the MAA etc will be nearly impossible, this may be true for any military airfield.
The security will be a nightmare.
But it is in a lovely area

Well if the west country is the place then Dunkeswell is the place to go. Both types of fuel, large flat 900 acre field

I have no dog in this fight, but I'm learning the names of about 100 different locations in the UK. I think it's time to put it to a vote of 5-10 places.
