Are we in Aus having more fatal helicopter accidents than normal? Seems like it.

What ????. Sorry but absolutely no sense in that statement. If you are having more accidents then you are having more accidents doesn't matter if you have 10 helicopters or 1000 - an accident is an accident and if you have 7 accidents instead of 5 accidents then you are having more.

And another one down today, sadly one fatality, reportedly a Bell Jet Ranger down near Maitland Vale NSW.
