The GT50 design does not have an N1 gearbox/geartrain as a typical turbine does. This is why the start/generator is mounted in front of the compressor inlet and is directly driven by the compressor shaft.

I'm more interested in the number of pre-orders the G5 gets vs the 1000+ the HX has. As I've stated before, its more than just price that has driven those HX pre-order numbers given a typical number for past small turbine entries was <400 which was also had a commercial use component that the HX does not have.
