I think there are new developments to this soap opera.....as NHV is looking for AW169 TRE for blackpool.
Maybe this is the end of Babcock in Blackpool and NHV going strong in the UK.

I suspect the change of type will give NHV the opportunity to argue TUPE doesn't apply.
Does anyone know the actual stance being taken by NHV?
One of the Babcock Dauphins together with the AW139 have relocated to Aberdeen today.
The Irish Sea gas rigs are now being served from Blackpool by NHV using an AW139 and an AW169.

Not been a great first week for NHV at Blackpool. Their AW139 came off the tarmac last night and got stuck in the mud, apparently whilst being towed. Large crane brought in to help with the recovery.
Babcock must have left the apron in quite an unfavourable condition. I dont think it had been maintained in years due lack of investment.

Wasn't this just a simple towing event , probably due to unfamiliarity with layout or confusion with line markings ? Not sure what the weather conditions at the time , or time of day.
AW139's have previously operated on that taxiway entrance for both the old operators for years , and the new operator since September/October , I understand all without incident. Aircraft appear to have been both towed and self taxi operated onto those spots in the past without any issues.
"No need for any mud slinging" , pardon the pun

Babcock's 'former self' (Bond Air Services, the onshore version) had plenty of form for towing mishaps, especially at Filton. Mind you, it always seemed to be the Ops Director/ Chief Pilot or his Deputy who had the problems, when they were forced rostered to work shifts there. Usually just after turning down a request for a decent towing device to replace the asthmatic garden-tractor lovingly hand-knitted by some backwoods Burmese outfit.
