EASA IR H ME
Im looking for a EASA IR H ME.
I would like some feedback ,
At the moment
Bond - 44,000 UK pounds + VAT - EC135
Sloane - 46,000 UK Pounds + VAT - A109
EHC - Norway - about 26,000 UK pounds - NO VAT - AS355
Nheli Sweden -about 26,000 UK pounds - NO VAT - AS355
Does it matter were the IR is done for future jobs, no vat in sweden and norway

Thanks for the replies , I'm a little confused , is it the case with IR's you pay for what you get , or do we just live in rip of Britain
The companies in Norway and Sweden are almost half price when you factor in No Vat , they are EASA schools ....any ideas ?

2 close friends have used EHC and the 355 and both rated it very highly. That's not even considering the price so I'd do that option. Have heard negative feedback about Sweden and the UK operators are just taking the p*ss with prices these days.
Go for Norway, cheap flights with Norwegian out of Gatwick to get there and cheap onsite student accommodation can be negotiated.

The prices already quoted, do you add on extra for the type rating, first twin endorsement etc......or is that including?.
How does Starspeed's prices compare?.I would have thought with the current down turn, there would be some great deals offered by the training schools?. Negotiate a cheap IR and be ready for the next NS intake.....its unlikely to get any cheaper?.
Regards.

Price is not the only criteria - all too often when something is too cheap, there's a reason for it, although I can vouch for EHC's quality having had several students who attended them. Look at what is included - for example, helicopter Services don't charge extra for landing fees and other stuff that is charged elsewhere.
As for deals - when prices are competitive anyway, you can't do too many.
Interesting that nobody mentioned Bristow.

I have friends/previous-students who have gone to Europe with <200hrs total time, SEP only, and come back with an EASA ME IR(H) first time pass and first twin rating for the quoted £26k.
I have no idea why you would choose to spend twice that for the same rating in the UK. It might be said that you get what you pay for, but in reality you either pay £26k for an EASA ME IR(H), or twice that. Still looks the same in your licence, and in reality if you can pass your IRT then you have the adequate skills to do that very familiar route/approach that you've practiced a handful of times. You will learn to fly IFR properly on the line with experience captains and they don't care where you did your IR course...

So if I have a PPL(H) from the UK, FAA CPL(H) and IR(H) and want to do an add on to the PPL(H) will I have to take 7 or so written exams in Norway for training under EHC or will 7 exams from UK EASA suffice?
