Advice Please

On my license I have CPL (H) IR, with 800hrs, TR, R22, R44, A109, and AS355. I also have my ATPL exams.

I passed my IR at Bristow academy Gloucester Nov 2008 and renewed Sept 2010 and I intend to renew at the end of this year.

I can’t afford the 4 or 5 grand every year while I’m not in a permanent flying job.

As the IR is type specific I would have to do it again anyway if taken on.

Do you think because my IR is not current this is why I’m being over looked?

43 years old with 'only' 800hrs might be a factor. (I must stress 'might').

Good luck with your job hunt.

I just got a confirmation on the magic 500 hrs (even ME). This is a bit of a catch 22, since the best place to obtain ME experience would be the offshore industry itself. At the moment I don't really see how to transition from my non-aviation main job to flying offshore.

CHC NS has just started two pilots with just over 200 hours so I don't know where the 500 hour requirment is coming from.

That's outrageous! Nepotism should be kept in the family, if you ask me.

Aberdeen Jobs

Hi gents,
might you have any news about the driver openings with Bristow and CHC in Aberdeen? Since almost two weeks it was getting very silent now... also any idea what the general cause of the pilot demand was...maybe the Bond drop with Shell...?

Thanks and press thumbs

As Bristows have won the Inpex job in Australia, i can see them sending the Aussie pilots to Aberdeen to get hands on flying

Yes they'll need some 'hands on' experience as this offshore contract will be so massively different to all the other offshore contracts BHA have been successfully servicing for the last umpteen years.

Apologies Pohm, i was referring to flying the 225 not the offshore side of things. I was under the impression they only operate 4 in Australia.

EC145 Captains and First Officers at 5 / Intaway resourcing

Made a short search regarding intaway and looks like another recruitment agency... that has some problems regarding payments! (at least that is what was sayd in another thread of this forum).

I've sended my cv and got an answer: How much are you expecting to win???
