Just took a snap while driving by a nice beach on the north eastern shore of the Hawaiian island of Oahu.
Apparently the Fire and Rescue guys where doing some training. Enjoy:

Poor picture!

Not the best picture! Taken from Broadford on the Isle of Skye, Scotland. They flew side by side for as far as I could see them.

If anyone knows what was going on I would love to hear!

Thanks,

Gordy

Specifically, (judging by the paintjob), one of the new Coastguard S-92s. No idea why it might be formating on an A109 though...

Yeah, was definitely the Coast Guard s92, see it very often up here - just curious as to why it was with the 109....

2 million views!

Rotorheads Around the World has just gone through 2,000,000 hits - a record for a single thread in any forum in the history of PPRuNe.

Many thanks to everyone who has contributed pictures.

Special thanks to BlenderPilot who started our Picture Gallery just over five years ago.

And to John Eacott and imabell who soon joined in to help BlenderPilot hosting pictures for members in pre Photobucket days.

I was hoping we might reach 4000 posts at the same time as we hit 2 million views. We didn't quite make that, but many posts contain several pictures so the actual number of images is way beyond 4000.
I don't know exactly how many there are - maybe somebody will count them one day, and post the figure.

It's the best collection of pictures of helicopters in action anywhere, either on the internet or elsewhere - with the added attraction of being a showcase of different types of ops carried out by helicopter pilots all over the world, reflecting the truly international nature of this forum.

I still log in occasionally - can't keep away - and it's great to see the forum still going from strength to stength under the guidance of Senior Pilot.

Best wishes to all my old friends here.
Keep posting pictures, and
Fly safe.
