TV news show it as Fonnafly AS.350B2 Ecureuil LN-ODH.
2 persons died in the crash during slingload operations. (Concrete to a new chair lift at the Voss ski resort).

Eyewitness accounts says the helo was at "high altitude" when it just dropped.
Norwegian AIBN expected at the crash site at midnight.

A sad day

[Edit: Moderator, what about merge with the other one]

A summary of news reports so far seem to reveal the following:
The helicopter was at relatively high altitude, coming down the mountain.
Eyewitnesses believe to have seen a “wire” tangling in the rotor (possibly the tail-rotor). The helicopter then slowly started to spin and descend in a cloud of blue smoke, before hitting the ground hard. The cabin section was virtually destroyed on impact.
It is reported that a part of the tail, including the tail-rotor was found about 30 meters away from the rest of the helicopter. A piece of wire seems to have been found close to the detached tail-rotor section.
There is no indication that they hit powerlines or any other cables or wires.
It appears they had finished the job in the ski lift area and were about to leave for the next assignment of the day.
The only two persons on board: the pilot Olav Skeie (42) and Inge Grevle (41), both reportedly from the local Voss area, seems to have died instantly in the crash.

A picture of the wire found near the tail-rotor:

The AAIB has spoken, and a lifting cable, possibly forgotten by the crew is said to be the cause of the crash. The cable swung back and hit the tail area, possibly destroying the tail rotor.

When the crew landed from the last lift, the plan was to pick up one more load. The plan was changed during the ground stop, and the AAIB speculate that the crew forgot that they had a cable attached.
