A summary of news reports so far seem to reveal the following:
The helicopter was at relatively high altitude, coming down the mountain.
Eyewitnesses believe to have seen a “wire” tangling in the rotor (possibly the tail-rotor). The helicopter then slowly started to spin and descend in a cloud of blue smoke, before hitting the ground hard. The cabin section was virtually destroyed on impact.
It is reported that a part of the tail, including the tail-rotor was found about 30 meters away from the rest of the helicopter. A piece of wire seems to have been found close to the detached tail-rotor section.
There is no indication that they hit powerlines or any other cables or wires.
It appears they had finished the job in the ski lift area and were about to leave for the next assignment of the day.
The only two persons on board: the pilot Olav Skeie (42) and Inge Grevle (41), both reportedly from the local Voss area, seems to have died instantly in the crash.
