This young CHC pilot dropped in to our (Alpine Heli ) Base today on a ferry flight, The evil CHC Base is across the runway, and off-airport, but he never knew where it was.
Normally, we'd have taken him prisoner, but he was so young and small, we threw him back.....

Jcooper, It was a slow shutter speed and a winding down rotor. I believe I am allowed to leave the chopper when its engine is stopped....................OK with you?

I was flying a sling job in the high Rockies today and got caught in a wild little snowstorm. We waited for a few hours and then finished the job. Here's some photo's as we sat....
Sitting at the ACC Elizabeth Parker Hut (7,000') , O'Hara Valley as the storm arrives...

After the storm subsided a bit....

Yes, I was carrying the reverse inlet air deflectors with me (the snow scoops) !

This S-92 is our #4 ship, which did the European tour (Paris last year, followed by England, Ireland, Scotland, Scandanavia, Finland, thence back to the US).
It is now modified a bit with a rear door and longer internal cabin, decked out as the VH-92 demonstrator. It has a full VIP interior, TCAS, EGPWS, Wx Radar, as well as an on-board LAN so you can cruise the internet (wireless) while flying, a full video conferencing capability via SATCOM with a tracking antenna (I think its the first such installation in a helo) and a command center for placing the calls.
With extra attention to creature comforts, it is the smoothest and quietest aircraft we have ever measured.
The golf course picture was taken last summer at a resort near Houston TX where we hosted some folks to have a demonstration flight or two.

Beware when parked in falling or blowing snow
407 Driver,
At the risk of trying to teach Grandma to suck eggs, please ALWAYS fit your intake covers when you think snow might fall or blow. From your photos it looks like your 407 is fitted with a particle separator; this doesn't work when the engine isn't running (not enough airflow for the "swirl tubes" to properply work) so snow will go through the separator and settle in the plenum chamber, often as slush. This accumulated, packed snow may not get sucked through the engine until at high power settings, i.e. initial climb, when it will be sucked in as a "slug" of slushy snow. Even a shot glass of water when tossed into the intake will flame out an Allison.
A company I worked for had a bad accident exactly this way, as did another company on the field a year later. Afterwards, research revealed at least half a dozen crashes, most of them involving fatalities, with the same scenario. Somehow, this information had not been widely disseminated despite it being the subject of a study by I believe Bell.
As you probably guessed, the majority of those crashes occurred in Canada.

There's a notice on the Photobucket site saying they've had problems this week - the first time since I've been using the service.
The service exists entirely on voluntary donations by people who use their service - no ads.
Apparently the bandwidth limit can be lifted by making a donation, but they don't say how much they expect.
I've written asking for an indication and will post again when I get a reply.

Helos from the Solomons 2003-2004
I thought I would add a couple of my own photos for peoples interest. They are ADF aircraft involved in the Regional assistance Mission to the Solomon Islands.
