If it is,
I am envious and look forward to the day I get to fly one,
I am still waiting for the weather to be good enough to do my qualifying cross country and be turned loose in the wide blue yonder.
Regards,
Micky

Squirrel,
Are the marks in the snow in front of the heli, wher you dropped previous skiers , .. do you land or just touch and allow them to debus?

If you notice in the left corner of the photo, you see a wooden stake with an orange flag. Those stakes are set out on a good flying day (day with sun and/or some definition) - usually 2-3 stakes are put in, which you focus on when landing. You need them when it is overcast and flat light or else you cannot land. On this peak, there are two sets of stakes, one where the machine landed and another to its left. The marks in front of the helicopter are wind-swept snow. In fact, the area in front is a large cornice which then drops off for a couple of thousand feet below. You have to asses the cornice prior to landing and ensure that you land well back in case in breaks off. The skiers departed the other way down the mountain! When you land, skiers and guide exit, then you depart.

We have altered the title of this thread, to make it more connected with Aviation, rather than my original mistake of the Dashboard.
To all of you who have posted on this thank you, you have indeed enlightened many of us who have mundane "Normal Jobs"

But Peter, this is my normal, mundane job!
Credit to those folk in real jobs who provide us with the wherewithal to do what we enjoy.
A couple more from out here, showing the area north of one of the local airfields where the wreckage from the 1991 Mitla Pass "Turkey Shoot" is dumped.

Sadly, Peter, I think even your hardy folk would draw the line at all that Uranium dust from the GAU8 shells
