It's been doing IR approaches at Bristol last week, sounded awesome and the paint is a deep nice yellow, doesn't come across that well on the picture.

EC145 production officially ceased and E affordability

Trying to work this one out , with the original EC145, production has now ceased leaving the H145 (T2) and new EC145e being the new kids on the block -

Will the price of a H145 come down so that parapublic operators and offshore who have had an interest / do fly the EC145 can afford the H145?

Or

Will they go for the EC145e variant....for cost effectiveness but as the a/c has pretty much had its SPIFR stripped including co-pilot controls to save weight - I suspect within Europe, the 'e' may not be popular with EASA w.r.t public service but popular in North American marketplace

In short looking globally at the EC145 customer marketplace compared to the current H145 -

Off the top of my head, current customers

Babcock-Bond (Anglian Air Ambulance and Scottish Ambulance Service) here in UK
DRF and ADAC in Germany
Pacific Helicopters in Papua New Guinea
Dare County Healthcare , N,C, USA
INAER Italy
Baden-Wuttenberg Polizei
Svensk Luftambulans.Sweden
Corporate customer in NZ and Turkey recently

Yorkshire Air Ambulance should be online this year

Pegaso in Mexico are buying ten airframes

On the mil and parapublic side to come

Elbit Systems has procured H145 for Israeli police,
Royal Thai Navy and Army should be getting theirs come next year

Its pretty much a decade since the BK117-C2 went into production and now ceased....

Also with Airbus increasing the MTOW , that may increase the cost per airframe?

http://www.airbushelicopters.com/web...00kg_1899.html

Any thoughts?

cheers

Hi Chopper2004,

you missed a customer
EC145 T2: Modernster Polizeihubschrauber der Welt für Landespolizei Nordrhein-Westfalen - Airbus Helicopters - Pressemitteilung

don´t really think, the price will go down with so many interested in the "new kid on the block"
but you might get a lot of used BK117 (B2/C1) for a bargain nowadays ;-)

The EC145T2 or more correctly the BK117-D2 are standard 4 axis AP and standard SPIFR, be your choice if you wanted to operate it 2 pilot

Well, what a question?!
Don't know, what you want to fit the helicopter with - Floats? Airconditioning? VIP-Seating? Wirecutting? And and and

What I can tell you, is that you won't have any problems with the power available - even OEI!
Just doing my rating and even with HISL (high intensity search light), FLIR, full fuel and 3 pax )5 POB) = MTOW with actual temp you can hover OEI in ground effect- so after engine failure you are able to do an OEI approach without the need of a running landing!!!!
With a slightly lighter bird, flying Vtoss OEI you get climb rates from 700 ft/min and more, the lighter you get !!!
Even more than 1000 ft min!!!
With lower cloud bases you're hardly able to do the full OEI procedure - jumping into the sky!!! :-)))

Well, have weekend, no chance to look into the weight-cheat....
And no way giving the figures anyway, cause that would clues to the weight of the Crew and Pax 😜

Flying Bull, he does say STANDARD. So I would guess factory basic SPIFR. No options.

Flying bull, why ask so many questions when you can't provide a simple answer. I'm not asking about the mass of your wife, it's just a freakin helicopter. The whole show tells me just one thing, typical ECD: "we have the best but don't ask about the details cause it's not so good". Cheers.

Well, my friend- to give answers, I have to look in the books, then subtract our special equipment to give you numbers.
Rough- around 2.000 kg empty, plus 700 kg fuel plus 2 Pilots (200kg?!) with a t/o weight of 3700 kg allowed, leaves a good 700 to 800 kg
We're empty about 2200 kg, but we have lots of extras 😏

Thank you Bull! 2000 kg, that's our 135 with all equipment... for a T2 that's quite good I reckon.
