What's New In W. Africa (Nigeria)
Nigerian In Law
Oh dear. Can't think of any other small charter operators in Nigeria now. So it's the two usual suspects and the two new ones remaining.

Well,
Seems this thread has died the death that Bristow seems to want.
People leaving 6 on /3 off'
No new contracts....except fixed wing.
Morale at at an all time low!
Fell free to correct me if I,m wrong.

Is The Garden Rosy Anywhere ?
lynnx,
Is there a post somewhere saying Bristow want this thread to die the death ? Are the other contract companies on 6/6 with new contracts coming in ? Is the morale with the other companies any better, is it better anywhere at the moment ?
Not correcting you, just asking for clarification

Bristow is as good as any other helicopter company. Probably better than most. After 41 years I am glad to be out of the turmoil. God bless all of you still working in the industry and providing for your family's. There is a new sheriff in town and things will get better.............or worse.\

It's Bad all Over
It's bad everywhere in the industry and there are no perfect companies. Bristow certainly isn't perfect but it's not the worst and after 22 years with them then leaving to find greener pastures let me tell you it's a myth...! There are no greener pastures or perfect companies. Bristow were good in their day but times have changed and so has the business. At the end of the day companies are running a business not a charity and it is just unfortunate those who have committed their life to their craft suffer the most the consequences of the economic downturn. Loyalty is a two way street that doesn't exist in companies anymore. ☹️
Loyalty in the Helicopter Industry?
Yeah Right!
You think there is....you have to believe in the Tooth Fairy, Easter Bunny, and the Cheque is in the Mail!
Your loyalty is to your paycheck and the company's is to the Management's Profit Sharing and Stock Options!

I agree with you SASless. I did 40+ years with the same Company and in the end, there was no such thing as loyalty. Sadly, that's across the board.
"You" are now just a computer number

I enjoyed knowing as a Casual Pilot I was making more money than the Managing Pilot on the Operation I was working at.....but then knowing the Guy....the pay differential was appropriate.

Loyalty is an individual trait. I had one boss who had zero (IIRC he loved you too Sasless),
however his successor had more than I had ever seen, even in my 15 years in the Army. And he was the boss when the company had completely changed, for the worst in some peoples eyes, for the better in others.

For those of you still working there in PH, you're in for a surprise. There're going to be some new paint schemes parked on the ramp at NAF within the next couple of weeks. Having worked for both Africair back in the late 90's and Bristow in the mid-2000's, I can't wait to see the reaction on this site.....
