Airbus A320 landing rate?

Hi everyone,
first of all i'm not a commercial pilot, i have a PPL..but i travel a lot with the A320/321 and i virtually "fly" the A320 in FSX..so,it's kind of my favourite plane..

The question is, what is the average landing rate that you guys, normally achieve? or better, what is the landing rate that makes you happy and none in the plane would feel the touchdown?
Below 100 fpm? up to 300 fpm??

I know Cessnas can land with little vert.speed, below 100 fpm, but is a 240 fpm landing a good one for an A320??


P.S. I'm aware that the limit for the airbus is the 500 fpm landing and i support the opinion that "every landing you walk of and the plane can fly again is a nice landing" but i want to know below which landing rate you dont feel the touch down..

No idea to the level of accuracy you seek. I look out the front window at that point in the flight. If it's a smooth one, it's probably a low descent rate. If I touchdown and say ouch it was a higher rate one.

If your landing the plane and no one can feel the touchdown then your doing something wrong...

Well, the closest you can get for an answer is that the Emergency Checklist for an Overweight landing says you should aim to touchdown with a Vertical speed of less than 350 fpm to avoid an engineering inspection. I also seem to remember that Airbus has guidance to say that 'closure' rates of more than 6ft / second could trigger a 'heavy' landing report. So that would equate to just under 400 fpm.

So anything under 300 fpm a good landing, anything over 400 fpm would potentially be bad.

I don't fly the 320 but the 737. Many examples in the training manuals assumes around 150fpm of rate. In practice you try to get as close as possible to 0 with throttles closed and without letting the speed drop below a certain speed in order not to hit the tail.

Usually I get pretty close and sometimes... well sometimes I don't
