Well, if I'm inverted and I extend the landing gear does the gear go up or does it go down?

How many times have I seen that field/house/building etc?
When will I actually earn a living out of this?
What if I did a demo of a spin right now?
How many trial lessons can you do in a day?
I know you've never flown before but is it really that hard?!!
and many other such thoughts - sad but true.

I love flying and I like instructing, I even really enjoy showing people the joys of flying in a light aircraft - I just get a little wistful in those quiet moments.

WoW! I must be the only charter pilot here. Just recently, going to work as the sun sets, seeing it rise again and still with 2 hours to go until I'm back at base...
I think about my duvet, my pillow, my bed, just how long is it until sleeping time, how quickly can I get from the crew room to my bed, how long can I spend in bed before I have to get up and fly yet another night flight....
Other than that? Food. You know that craving you get at around 3-4am, for curry, cheese sandwiches and chocolate?
Perhaps its just me....

Cool

What is next
What would I do if x happened now
What can I learn from today
I wish I could say that this was my train of thought all the time;when I'm on min rest in a 50 hour week this tends to go out of the window.

I sure wish that all US air traffic controllers knew how difficult they are to understand with very many blurted-out, clipped calls, and how many radio calls get blocked. Many calls are important clearances.

Why does our company completely trust DC-9 fuel gauges, unless at least one is on MEL (and for days at a time-this also means that the fuel totalizer is not reliable). Do our Chief Dispatchers answer only to accountants (if yes, put them on our jumpseats for some familiarization)? And, we might have a two-hour flight with only one reliable fuel gauge, when the center tank is not used. Former DC-8 pilots tell me that they were required to LAND with no less than 20,000 lbs onboard.

Luke Skytoddler,

You must have been really low on the glide path if you were able to see that she was attractive!

I think about the next two things I should be doing/saying/checking. Then I think about the next eight things after that. I think about when I will be able to get out of the seat to get to the loo.

I think about what would happen if the FMC failed. I think about what I would do if the chap on my left died right now.

I think about when I will be able to pay my bills off. Playing in the back of my mind is a song I heard on radio one at the check in that morning, maybe "Teenage dirtbag".

I think about how happy/lucky I am to be here.

I only thinm of what the weekend will bring and if she is finally gonna give it up. Otherwise it's a cheerful song on those boring solo flights or chatting mindlessly to my instructor to pass the time before the next checkpoint... Damn she was hot. Is it legal to drink all day saturday and fly sunday? Is she single!! damn she looks to good to be alone. Wonder if she likes a pilot...

How much farther to the next fix? Are the passengers too cold? Was that call for us? Am I close enough to get the ATIS yet? I wonder what runway they are using when we get there? I wonder if this controller will give us a short cut? How much fuel will we have to mess around with if we have to go around? God, I am so tired. What time were we supposed to arrive? How late are we? What can we do to catch up? I am so underpaid. That was way too much work for the money. I bet as soon as I program this approach into the FMS they will change the runway. Damn controllers! When should I start slowing down? I'll keep the speed up to the OM? Ignitors on? Ice protection req'd? Did we get our gate assignment yet? I hope I grease this landing and make the first high speed. Is this airplane a piece of sh*t or what? I wish this were my last leg for today. Why the f**k didn't they call the hotel van? What time do we have to report tomorrow? Is it a long day again? What's the block? I should have dropped this trip

A good topic !

I think about:

- will I stay awake for the next 12 hrs?
- am I going to be able to decypher the
XXX ATC today ?
- those two hosties throwing a party I'm
supposed to provide the tequila for next
week (Yippiiee!!)
- who's hiring and who's not
- does Virgin Classics connect today?
- why the k**bhead next seat really is a k**bhead
- being a lucky sod after all
- enroute alternates
- does that AHRS 1 hold up today?

Thank You !

Knowledge is powerrrr...
