Has anyone heard anything regarding interview/start dates yet?

I heard the provisonal dates were 26/27th November but no letter so far?

Also any inside info regard possible numbers etc would be helpful.;)

BB

Closing date for applications is tomorrow (25th Oct). So hopefully they'll reply sometime next week.

PS

ECHIE 24th October 2002 10:58

Closing date?

The closing dates for applications for the postion as second officer closes tomorrow? I would like to know more about this? I just received my applicationform yesterday.

Tks.

Pro Spin 24th October 2002 11:05

The closing date on the website for First Officers is tomorrow.

www.britanniaairways.com

Not sure of any closing date for Second Officers though...

PS.

er82 24th October 2002 17:16

I didn't realise they were even recruiting at the moment for Second Officers. Where does it say that? I heard they would be taking on Second Officers beginning of next year, and at the moment they were just looking for FO's.

AMEX 24th October 2002 18:19

The 26 and 27th of November dates relevant to people who have already been through the entire DEP selection but who had been made redundant following 911 (of for thos who had not been given a start date yet).

Again this is for DEP but not necessarily type rated = Holding pool swimmers ;)

prob30 29th October 2002 09:41

anyone know anything?

OBK! 29th October 2002 13:05

Where abouts does it mention Second Officer recruitment? I can only see that they are recruiting First Officers on the website.

I would love to know the Second Officer requirements :)

Bob Fleming 30th October 2002 18:45

second to none

the second officer info came with the information that they sent with the application form....there are various grades depending on how many hours you have..

Bluebaron 2nd November 2002 07:22

i was told yesterday that they are pretty well bogged down with the sponsership programme. They will do their best to get letters out next week. I got the impression that all they have to do it link the forms we sent back to time/dates and type the letters.

Does anyone know if we will have to do the sim again? i hope not as i can't afford and money to brush up on Jet flying again?

BB :p

AMEX 2nd November 2002 08:44

Err not sure what letter you are referring to BlueBaron.
The last one I got was dated the 23/09, is there another one on the way ?
It also stated clearly the interview length won't last much more than an hour and involve us updating Britannia with our experience in the past 12 months.

MAX 2nd November 2002 10:10

Nah!

I havent heard a thing either. I havent really tried chasing them to be honest. Care factor?

I feel pretty confident there will not be a sim ride. Just an hour of shooting the sh!t and us asking questions as to WHAT THE HELL IS GOING ON!!:p

MAX:cool:

Bluebaron 3rd November 2002 09:38

i was refering to the letters confirming the interview.

AMEX 3rd November 2002 14:14

Probably a phone call me think;)

Bluebaron 7th November 2002 09:39

still nothing

starship 7th November 2002 12:25

Hello guys, still nothing. I gather that those who responded to the advert in Flight and subsequently completed application forms have not heard anything either.......keep swimming, and keep fingers crossed that the shore is near.

cheers,

starship

KERDUNKER 7th November 2002 18:22

For what its worth I spoke to them this afternoon and they said letters are going out this week. ( Do you get invited by phone or letter.?)

AMEX 7th November 2002 18:29

Those who have responded to the advert have certainly heard from Britannia.
As a matter of fact, it appears that BY may have not found all the rated crew they need as:

- Rumor says they have contacted Air2K in order to use 6 pilots to cover for the short term.
- A mate of mine who had decided against going to BY a little while back (and politely informed HR), has been invited again to attend an assessment day.

Probably good news in a way but between the Cadets being taken on and the type rated guys, we feel,... how should I say, a little isolated perhaps ?

Propellerhead 9th November 2002 08:49

I guess there are a couple of recruitment drives running in parallel at the moment - cadets, new D/E candidates, and those who have previously passed the selection?

Does anyone know what the psychometric tests / group exercises involve? Is there anything you can revise for before the day (I guess mental arithmetic, spatial awareness and the usual suspects!). Good luck everyone.

Bluebaron 12th November 2002 13:25

2 weeks today from the quoted interview date and still no confirmation?
Just what's going on?
