Modular Route Licensing Advice

Hi All,

I’m doing some research at the moment to set a plan for my training. I’ve seen a school in Mallorca (Flyept) if anyone has had any experience with them or advice that would be great. My dilemma at the moment is I am from Northern Ireland so have both EU and UK citizenship, I don’t know if I should complete my PPL as EASA or CAA. I believe I can convert either and possible can complete a dual license but to be honest the more I try to research it the more of a minefield I find it. If anyone could help with some advice that would be great!

After the Brexit drama go for the pilot certification that allows the most job opportunities, an EASA license.

Before you look at an airplane get both CAA and EASA class one medicals. You only need one PPL. EASA or CAA, it doesn't matter as its just a stepping stone, but you'll be hour building on that PPL. Sign up for ATPL theory at an ATO which teaches both.

thanks for the reply. That was my thinking but was unsure if having dual citizenship for UK and EU gave me any benefits. Been hanging off for a while waiting on the CAA to simplify licensing but seems to have come to a stand still. Best to just press on now

Thanks rudestuff. I have my EASA Class 1 have not done a CAA Class 1 so I will look into that. Maybe you would know an answer to this after I complete my PPL I have access to a C42 (3 axis Microlight) I have read mixed reports of these hours being accepted to keep your PPL current but would they also be accepted when hour building towards a CPL?

I originally have planned for hours in a C152 but a friend has the C42 allowing me use at cost
