Flight Schools in Southern Euorpe

Hi there,

as the headline indicates I'm looking for EASA flight schools in the southern regions of Europe (e.g Spain, Greece etc.) besides good/stable weather conditions during the upcoming autumn and winter month, a reasonable price/performance ratio (value pricing) would be interesting as well (it's about CPL/IR - MEP).

How about "Egnatia Aviation" in Greece, just came across their website.

Any advise/infos are greatly appreciated!

I currently study at Egnatia Aviation on the Integrated Program, just starting IR now, and would highly recommend the school. The school is very reasonable with its pricing and as a bonus provide accommodation and transportation to and from the school which is great. The aircraft are quite new and well maintained, on average there is good availability to fly and the instructors are always willing to help. From what others have told me and what I can see it is the best flight school in Greece.

We have dealt with Egnatia for years and the feedback is consistently the same as above. We also deal with Global Aviation in Greece, and never hear anything bad about them.

Egnatia is good for what it offers.
Groundschool has relocated out of the main premises to a new, larger modern building in the city, freeing up the space and bringing more expansion to the company.
Aircraft are no more than 5 years old and are well-maintained (Egnatia have a contract with Diamond Aircraft and personally, these aircraft are the best training machines out there - Low wing, glass cockpit, pilot-friendly...) and you end up flying 3 different aircraft by the end of your training as supposed to the usual 2.
Accom and transport included in the price (you get used to the dull apartments, it's better than nothing).
Friendly instructors you'll get along with very quickly.
Great place to do flight training, with Thessaloniki and many small islands within vicinity. A lot of these runways are around 3km long due to military use.
Weather wasn't as consistent as expected this year, but you can use the time to play flight sim and reply to posts on pprune.
The website for the school also needs updating!

Try Aviator Flight Centre in Cyprus.

Run by 2 very experienced airline pilots, recently approved by EASA and the DCA to conduct CPL/MEP/IR training on the DA-42 and DA-40, I would say 80% of all the students who have done their PPL and Hour building with them, found a job within a year. Their experience ranges from corporate to airline flying.

They cooperate with one of the biggest training organisation in the UK and provided hour building services to them as well as MEP. There are plans to expand that cooperation into other areas as well.

Having done my PPL and hour building with them, I found them to be highly experienced and passionate on what they do. This is a reflection on the quality of training they provide but also on their prices since they have one of the most competitive prices in the European market. Connecting Europe with the middle east, a lot of private and commercial airlines are seeking ways to establish hubs in Cyprus, which means that new airline jobs will be available.

Being the biggest and most experienced training organisation in the Island means only one thing, cooperation with airlines, and direct output of pilots ready to join local airlines as well as foreign airlines using CY as their base.
You will eventually get the same license as anywhere in EU since CY is in EASA, and you will also receive one of the highest levels of instruction, which will definitely help you not just to gain your licenses but also to excel in your first interview.

Apart from that, Greece will introduce a 23 % VAT on all their flight training costs due to the bailout provided by ECB. In other words, it won't be worth it to do any of your training in Greece.

wholeheartedly recommended.

I have about this training school from one of my friend. He has completed his corporate training from this training school. The main focus they put is on your practical skill.
