jaa ppl adding an faa ppl

Hi guys If someone could answer this question it would be great. I have recently gotten my PPl (A) in Ireland, and was thinking of doing some hour building in USA while on holidays in a few months.

Can some one please explain what I need to do this?

Can I get an Faa ppl added to my Jaa license and if so does it need to be updated each year?

FAA PP Certificate

In my humble opinion you might find a stand alone FAA licence a lot more useful in the long run than simple recognition of your Irish PPL.
