What To Do After Cpl Me Ir????
Hi guys, how r you all! its been 3 months that i finished my Canadian CPL MEIR, actually im a Tunisian girl living in U.A.E, 27y old, and im getting the uae nationality by the end of 2012!
ive only 223h TT and unfortunatly there is no jobs for newbie like me, my questions is what i can do, what is the next step! please i need some advices to help me take a decision.
shuld i study JAA ATPL? CRM? MCC? Hours building with eagle jet? convert my license to uae one? Type rating? ...
im so confused and don't know what to do or where to go, what is sure is that i cant stay at home just searching to apply for jobs with no answers! i need to at least study if i dont work! but what shuld i do that can be helpfull for me after to work in uae.

Sorry to ask, but couldn't you ask this yourself BEFORE you started flight training? I don't know, but are there a lot of airlines in the UAE hiring right now? Let alone someone with around 200hrs TT...

If you have to live in UAE to get your citizenship, you probably don't have much choice as to where to live, if you really want it.
GCAA can validate or ask you to do the exams for conversion, from any ICAO papers, so I'd not bother with JAA exams, if I were you. If you live in UAE, getting the local licence makes sense, doesn't it? You're more likely to get *any* reply if you meet some basic pre-screening criteria. But then, it may not be so until you have the nationality.
As Poeli points out, trying to kickstart aviation career needs lots of research before and during training, plus having Plan B, C, D, whatever it takes. Not to mention considering if it's the 'right time' to train, if it's really worth the hassle.
In some countries being young female pilot certainly leaves impression on potential employers, in some it could be met not so positively. Only recently Malaysian flag carriers started sending female cadets to the big Malaysian FTOs (despite relatively high percentage of women working in aircraft engineering compared to Europe).

Well I think the previous posts have pretty much said it all. You need to decide what you can do with the resources you have , money , time etc . Formulate that plan and stick to it .

To Poeli : i asked myself long time b4 starting the training, but the problem is that airlines over here dont stop changing the criteria, when i decided to begin my training some airlines over here were asking for just CPL MEIR, while i was doing the training they were asking for JAA FROZEN ATPL, and nooooow they want ICAO ATPL but not FROZEN!!!
second bad thing : i was eligible to get the citizenship from last october, when i went to ask for it and... BUMMER they changed the law and i ve to wait for 2 more years to b able to apply for it, as a foreigner i have no chance to work with only 200 TT !

What about calling it what it really is? Destroying terms and conditions of YOUR future career.

Concerning eagle jet, the problem is that here they r asking for experience and too much hours, this is why i was thinking about eagle jet! what is sure and certain that i will not work as a pilot now in none of companies here, whatever its a big commercial , small private or even in clubs!
as u said i think the best thing to do now is to convert my license, but this will take what 1 day, 2 days 1 week??? all i wanted is an advice while im waiting for the citizenship to do something that can be an extra positif thing to me, my cv and career!
BTW do u have any idea what is required by the GCAA to do the ATPL? like in canada i need a minimum of 750h, for JAA just private license!

it does not really matter if you were a national or not in this country when it comes to aviation, they tend to hire more foreigners anyway.
I would highly advice you to enroll in emirates aviation college in the dispatcher's course and start earning some money for your type rating or whatever , building hours maybe.
the fact that you have your CPL ME increases your chances of getting a job as a dispatcher , they pay around 15k AED if you've flying experience.
it will also increase your connection to the aviation world in here and you never know where it could take you.
